You’ll receive expert instruction and learn insider’s tricks for starting or finishing your own project. From designing to quilting, you'll receive superior guidance on whatever you need. Her comprehensive six-week class guides you through the entire process of learning to quilt—from accurate rotary cutting to quilting your masterpiece. Billie even provides a book for you to take home for reference. Thursdays, May 22 & 29, June 5, 12 & 19, July 3 • 10–1:30 pm • beginner • $69 | Sandi Ray Sandi’s Quilting Academy Sandi’s Quilting Academy will make you feel like a schoolgirl again as you work your way through new skills each month and increase your knowledge of many techniques: paper foundation piecing, freezer paper templates, hand and machine appliqué, diamonds with y-seams, and the no-waste flying geese block, strip piecing for an exact ¼" seam allowance, corner triangles, and the triple triangle trick—all while learning new twists on traditional skills. The goal of Sandi’s Quilting Academy is to train, inspire, and educate you as you gain confidence and excellence. When you enroll, each month, you will receive a packet that includes the pattern for that month, excellent instructions and all fabrics needed to make the block. When you graduate you’ll have a 65" x 71" quilt, pretty enough to hang anywhere! If you are a mail order customer, feel confident in this Skill of the Month series. Sandi has written explicit instructions for you to follow at home. Perfect for all levels, this class will help you start or finish any project—pillows, quilts, machine quilting—whatever you choose to work on. You’ll be impressed with your new skills as you complete a beautiful wall hanging and learn how easy paper piecing really is. Saturday. June 7, 10–4 pm & Wednesday, June 18, 6–9 pm • strong beginner • $48 Double Wedding Ring Quil Class This pattern dates back centuries and has always showcased two interlocking rings signifying the connecting of lives. Double Wedding Ring quilts can be time consuming, but Marlene will teach you an easier method using a one or two color background. Even a beginner will be successful. Want a different bag for winter, or evening, or spring or holidays? Then this is the one handbag you will ever need! This bag is designed with a clever interchangeable handle. Wednesday, June 11 • 10–2 pm • all levels • $25 | Maggie Hayes One Block Wonders Class This new technique is all about texture, movement, sparkle, and swirl with easy random cutting. This is simple piecing with no y-seams! Maggie shows you how to choose a large-scale print, figure yardage, then cut and piece this stop-in-your-tracks gorgeous quilt. Big pieces and clever short-cut methods make the quilt go together quickly. Fridays, May 30 & June 20 • 10–3 pm • intermediate • $48 Bouillabaisse Quilt Workshop Here’s a great way to use up all those beautiful fabrics tucked away in your stash! There are no limits to arranging the colors in the blocks. Maggie will guide you as you work towards finishing your masterpiece! Friday, June 6 • 10–4 pm • strong beginner • $42 Pieces of the Past Quilt Workshop Using a Bonnie Blue pattern, Maggie created this period reproduction quilt with over 50 assorted fabrics representing the unique designs of that time. The quilt pattern is based on a loyal mascot of the 11th Pennsylvania Infantry named Sallie. This barn red quilt has assorted scrappy stars sashed in striking black and tan cornerstones to create a tradition for today’s bed. Saturday, June 14th • 10–4 pm • intermediate • $42 | Marjorie Post Garden Melody Class Since ancient times, the beauty of poppies has been immortalized in literature and lore and now in Fete des Fleurs, a gorgeous fabric line by Marjorie Post. Bearing beautiful papery petals, they’ll leave a lasting impression as you work on this wall hanging. Marjorie designed Garden Melody with a creative fence-like border surrounding this garden of flourishing blooms using both the purple and orange color palettes. Wednesdays • May 21, June 4 & 18 • 10–2 pm • intermediate • $46 | Janet Pendergrass Kids’ Quilt Camp I The kids become artists as they make and finish a simple quilt using their choice of fabrics. Other projects will be offered as time allows. We’ll provide snacks each day. What a great way for creative children to learn to sew! For campers ages 9 and up. July 8–11 • 9–12 pm • ages 9+ • $65 Kids' Quilt Camp II The kids will move on from Quilt Camp I. In this fun four day class they will make Dare to be Square, our new quilt pattern. They can make our black, yellow & white top or select fabrics of their choice. After the campers make their quilt top they will learn about options to finish the entire quilt on their own. Prerequisite: Quilt Camp I. August 12–15 • 9–12 pm • ages 9+ • $65 Kids’ Pillowcase Workshop Spend a fun afternoon making The Pine Needle’s pillowcase. This is a great class for beginning sewers. We supply the pattern and you pick the fabrics of your choice to make this great project! You’ll have fun and learn beginning sewing basics along the way! Monday, August 4 • 1–4 pm • ages 9+ • $35 Sew for a Day Workshop Janet introduces you—yes, even you—to the joy of sewing. You’ll select from three projects in this sew-what-you-want class: a French market apron, a round table cloth or a table runner. All you need to know is how to operate your machine plus a few sewing basics. Janet will teach you easy skills to help you make professional looking items. You will love what you learn! Monday, July 14 • 10–3 pm • all levels • $35 | Donna Ratter Broadhurst Summer Play Quilt Workshop These big colorful Ohio stars are fun and easy to make. Framed with coordinating sashing, and cornerstones, you won’t want to stop until the last star is sewn in place. With clear step-by-step instructions in class, you can make this, even if you’ve never sewn a star before! Saturday, June 21 • 10–4 pm • strong beginner • $42 | Peggie Gelbrich Montana Cartwheel Workshop Try your hand at color and design with this dynamic Montana Cartwheel quilt. It’s a great scrap quilt using many values of the same color or go to the color wheel and select color groupings. You’ll learn to paper piece the arcs. See how easy curved piecing really is!
